DETAILS
W1060 (RG45) GTAW (TIG) is a general purpose, copper coated, low carbon steel alloy that is widely used on mild steel. It offers good ductility and machinability.
Features
- Solid wire used for oxy-fuel and GTAW (TIG) welding.
- Copper coated, low carbon steel, gas welding rod for welding mild steel
- It has good ductility and machinability
- 45,000 psi min. tensile strength (as welded)
- Produces high quality welds that are ductile and porosity-free
- Used on steel plate, sheet and pipe where high strength is not required
- Typical applications include welding low carbon steel, automotive repair and ornamental art
- No flux required, but puddling of the molten metal will bring any scale or impurities to the surface
- Weld on clean base metal to ensure the best results
- Conforms to AWS A5.2, R45.
