HOW TO SELECT A REGULATOR
Selecting the proper regulator for your application is easy
when you follow these three simple steps:
1. Choose the gas service and source: The service and source of the gas will indicate what type of inlet is needed, also known as the CGA connection. Examples of gas sources could be high pressure cylinders, low pressure cylinders, liquid cylinders, and bulk tanks.
2. Determine the required delivery pressure: For oxy-fuel cutting
fuel gas is 0-15 psi and oxygen is 0-150 psi. For oxy-fuel heating
is acetylene 0-15 psi, alternate fuel is 0-50 psi and oxygen 0-150 psi.
3. Choose single stage or two stage: Single stage regulators are what is needed for most industrial applications. Choose two stage regulators when a more consistent delivery pressure is needed over the life of a cylinder and situations where proper pressure is critical and the cylinders in use are in a remote or difficult monitor location.
