316L Stainless Steel GTAW (TIG) Welding Alloy

TIG (GTAW) | 316LT80

316L stainless steel GTAW (TIG) welding alloy 3/16 in. x 36 in. x 10 lb. box

DETAILS

316L stainless steel GTAW (TIG) welding alloy is used principally for welding molybdenum-bearing alloys and similar alloys containing 0.03% maximum carbon content. The carbon content increases resistance to intergranular corrosion. Conforms to ANSI/AWS A5.9 &ASME SFA 5.9 ER 316L.

Features

  • Stainless steel 316L TIG welding rod welds molybdenum-bearing alloys
  • Welds similar alloys containing (.03% max.) carbon content
  • Lower carbon content resists intergranular corrosion
  • 88,000 psi tensile strength (as welded)
  • 59,000 psi yield strength (as welded)
  • 35% elongation (as welded); 40% reduction of area (as welded)
  • 85 HRB Rockwell B Hardness (as welded)
  • 160 HB Brinell Hardness (as welded)
  • 80 ft./lb@ room temperature Charpy V (as welded)
  • Conforms to ANSI/AWS A5.9 & ASME SFA 5.9 ER 316L
