DETAILS

316L stainless steel GMAW (MIG) welding alloy has similar usage as MIG 316, but the 0.03% maximum carbon content increases resistance to intergranular corrosion. Used for welding steels alloyed with molybdenum. Conforms to AWS A5.9. Packaged for use in portable welding machines.

  • Lower carbon content resists intergranular corrosion
  • 88,000 psi tensile strength (as welded)
  • 59,000 psi yield strength (as welded)
  • 35% elongation (as welded); 40% reduction of area (as welded)
  • 85 HRB Rockwell B hardness (as welded)
  • 160 HB Brinell hardness (as welded)
  • 80 ft./lb. @ room temperature Charpy V (as welded)
  • Conforms to ANSI/AWS A5.9 & ASME SFA 5.9 ER 316L
