Alcor™ Flux-Cored Aluminum Brazing Alloy

AL200RC

Alcor™ flux-cored aluminum brazing alloy 2.0 mm x 1 ea. 1 toz. cup

DETAILS

Alcor™ is an easy-to-use aluminum alloy with non-corrosive flux inside the wire (no external flux is required). Alcor™ is a good choice for joining aluminum alloys of the 1000, 3000 and 6000 series. It can also be used to join aluminum-to-copper. Designed for the repair of heat exchangers, air conditioners, aluminum alloy condensers and other cooling applications. Complies with the EU Reach & RoHS directive.

Features

  • Cadmium-free zinc-aluminum brazing alloy
  • Good fluidity and capillary attraction
  • Lower operating temperature reduces chances of overheating the aluminum part
  • Good choice for joining aluminum alloys of the 1000, 3000 and 6000 series
  • Joining aluminum alloys and aluminum-to-copper
  • Ideal for repairing heat exchangers, air-conditioners, condensers and coils and other parts in the HVAC industry
  • Recommended joint clearance of 0.003 in. - 0.005 in. (0.08 mm - 0.13 mm)
  • Flux inner core means no manual flux application is required, providing significant cost savings
  • Complies with the EU Reach & RoHS directive

Specifications

Consumables

Alloy Type Aluminum Brazing
Chemical Composition Zinc 98%
Aluminum 2%
Classification Manufactured to Harris Products Group's internal engineering standards
Melting Range 710°F - 725°F (377°C - 385°C)
NSF Compliant No
Recommended Flux No flux required as this product has a cesium fluoroaluminate (CsAIF) type flux internal core. The core percentage and dimensions are calculated to deliver optimum flux release and braze joint protection during heating. Post braze residue from this flux is non-corrosive, so removal is typically unnecessary.
Recommended Joint Clearance 0.003 in. - 0.005 in. (0.076 mm - 0.127 mm)
RoHS Compliant Yes
Size 1 toz. cup
Special Instructions For dissimilar metal applications, consider the long term galvanic corrosion potential so a protective joint coating may be required.
Typical Application Low temperature joining of aluminum base metals such as the 1000, 3000 and 6000 series
Joining aluminum-to-copper
