DETAILS
ER309L-16 Stainless steel SMAW (Stick) welding electrode is used to weld base metals of similar composition in wrought or cast form. Sometimes, used to weld 304 and similar base metals (and L series) where corrosive conditions exist. Also, used to weld dissimilar steels. The .04% carbon increases resistance to intergranular corrosion by reducing carbide preciptation.
